Lycasleep – The Attik, Leicester

Lycasleep are a four piece band hailing from the north of England who are currently making all the right noises and gaining a strong reputation for live performance across the UK.

This has been obtained by constant gigging and creating a dark, moody atmosphere at their shows that can be likened to bands like Spiritualised and even early Pink Floyd. This sucks in the audience and mesmerizes you until the final chord dies out.

Playing to a well-attended gig in early June the band sort of drift on to the stage and before you know it opening track ‘ Reese Beeman’ is creating the vibe forcing the crowd to listen and take the band in. Very hypnotic. Further tracks such as ‘The Mourning Now’ and ‘Still Life’, right through to the dramatic finale of ‘Are You Awake’ continue the sense of being taken to another world for 40 minutes.

Steve Lamaq and Mary Ann Hobbs have also taken notice this band.

Catch them when you can whilst they still grace smaller club venues – in Leicester again on 21st August at The Attik.
